Iceland is a great all year round destination bringing the best out of each season. Depending on the experience you’re looking for, if you want to see the Northern Lights then October to March is the best time to visit and for those looking to see the midnight sun and do hiking then June and July are the best months. Generally speaking, summertime is the most popular time to visit Iceland because of warmer and better weather than in the other seasons, but the weather in Iceland is so unpredictable that you might get all four seasons in one day!
There are always number of interesting and fun activities to do in each season!

Super Jeeps can take you off the beaten track and into the highlands and up on the Glaciers in Iceland. One of the best ways to explore our amazing country is on a super jeep safari, navigating the steepest and rockiest of terrains, glaciers and black beaches.

Experience the wildlife and nature adventure of a lifetime. An experienced guide will take you out to sea in search for wild life, where you can expect to see whales, dolphins and bird life. Winter whale watching is a unique experience and a whole other adventure compared to the summer. Each year continues to surprise us with the wildlife it offers.
In February and March you can see the orca whales as they come close to the coast near Reykjavik and Akureyri to feed.
May - Oct
Descend 120m /400ft in a open cable lift through the top crater and down to the ground floor of a dormant volcano called Thrihnukagigur which last erupted over 4,000 years ago, located about 30km from Reykjavik.
This is a truly unique experience that will take you to the bottom of the volcano magma chamber that once was filled with steaming hot lava.

The tilt of the Earth's axis towards the sun during the summer causes the Midnight Sun. This same tilt of the Earth's axis and the Earth revolving around the sun causes seasons to happen. The peak of the Midnight Sun is in June, the days are long during the summertime in Iceland almost with 24 hours of daylight.
Take full advantage of these late nights and maximise your time in Iceland. This famous sight is something you should not miss with a midnight hike or sightseeing!

WOW! It’s impossible to find the words to express how thankful we are for our experience with Deluxe Iceland and our time the owner, Sigurður Magnússon. Our trip was flawless from the moment we were picked up until the very last minute as our adventure came to an end. The only direction I gave them were the dates, areas we wanted to explore and we were up for anything. I’m so happy I left it all up to them. They did not disappoint! Our entire stay was seamless, every excursion, every private guide, every meal and accommodation worked out perfectly. We were never waiting or confronted with any obstacle. Every detail was perfectly executed. Sig went the extra step to take group pictures, help us with our gear before and after excursions, handled our luggage as we traveled to different hotels along the coast, you name it, he was always there to ensure we had no worries or stress along the way. Deluxe Iceland also has beautiful vehicles that are immaculate and fully equipped with, WiFi, changing cords, water bottles and GPS monitors that track where you have been and to show where you will be going. However, the best part of about our booking through Deluxe Iceland was spending time with Sig. He is a tremendous ambassador to Iceland. He is very knowledgeable about his country and conveys the information so nicely as you travel throughout the country. It’s far better than trying to travel the country without a guide. With Sig doing the driving my husband and I were both able to enjoy the scenery and learn far more about Iceland than we could through a guide book. We also had our teenage daughter with us. He made sure we stopped often enough to feed a growing teenager. So thankful!! We also got plenty of time alone, Sig would join us through a portion of our hikes and then allow us to enjoy the rest of the hike to explore at our pace. We mentioned things we would like to see if possible while on the trip and he wove them in seamlessly throughout the days, such as, Icelandic horses, puffins, reindeer, Arctic Turns nesting area, waterfalls that are not on any map, local celebrities, Icelandic food, including pizza and cinnamon rolls and drinks. Everything we brought up in conversation some how he made happen. Such a wonderful guide. He made sure we checked all the boxes. This vacation is going in the books as one of the best vacation ever. We are already talking about when we can return and use Sig and his team at Deluxe Iceland again.

If you want to have a first class, five star Iceland experience look no further then Deluxe Iceland. We just came back from a 6 day/5 night visit to the southern part of Iceland and it exceeded all of our expectations. Not only is the country beautiful and the people welcoming, friendly and safe, Sig has taken luxury travel and service to another level. From the moment you land to the moment you leave, every detail is accounted and designed around you! The schedule is your own, no rush or pressure, but Sig is ready to take you to all the best sights and his knowledge of Iceland and it’s history is unmatched (I asked a lot of questions!). I would recommend you just let Sig and his team set your days and you will not be sorry. He knows ALL the best sites across all of Iceland - the places tourists want to go, and some you may not know about. He also has access to all the best restaurants and can provide an elevated experience away from many of the crowds. Sig was always on time, always smiling and friendly, no request was off limits and he took us door to door, everyday, in a clean Mercedes Van with WiFi. He also has a few surprises along the way to fully immerse you in Icelandic culture, tradition and fun. I will be coming back and highly recommend Deluxe Iceland to anyone looking for a bucket list experience. Thank you Sig!!

Over the 2018-2019 holiday break I decided to take my three late teen and early 20’s sons to Iceland. I am very lucky to have identified Deluxe Iceland run by Sigurður Magnússon as my tour organizer. Sig was extremely helpful in putting together a trip tailored to my requests. In our case, we were looking for adventure and high energy and with Sig’s help we were able to pack in snow mobiling, dune buggying and ATVing— all while taking in the stunning features of Iceland’s landscape. Sig recommended excellent hotels and the drivers that met with us every day were extremely nice and knowledgeable. Sig was patient as well, as I had to change my dates a couple of times in the planning process. All in all- a 10 plus!!
