The nature is always close and the scenery is breathtaking. The first stop of the day will be at Vestrahorn, Vesturhorn or Stokksnes, these are all names for this same place. The Horn area is below Vestra-Horn, a 454-meter-high mountain. It is an interesting geological site composed of un-stratified plutonic rock, mostly gabbro but with some granophyre. East of the mountain is a strange-shaped outcrop called Brunnhorn that stretches out to sea. You will also visit the remote Viking village there. In reality, it is a film set for an Icelandic movie that was never filmed. Meanwhile it remains open to the public.
On the way to Fosshotel Eastfjords you will make a stop at Djúpivogur. You might not recognize the name of this place but this is one of the most photographed spots in the region. By the harbour in this lovely little village, you will find a bay called Merry bay. In that bay you will find a distinctive outdoor artwork hidden away from sight. The outside artwork consists of 34 huge granite eggs which represent the eggs of each of the nesting birds in this area. Deluxe Iceland did an incredible job planning our family trip. We worked with Viktor for a few months ahead of time. He was informative and very patient, helping us plan the perfect trip for our family. He organized and took care of all the details in advance so we could enjoy our trip without any hassles. When we arrived in Iceland we were greeted by our unbelievable guide Andri who showed us around Iceland, taking us to the blue lagoon, the golden circle, a local farm visit, the lava center, snowmobiling, and so much more. He was so knowledgable, extremely personable and just such a nice person. He added so much to our trip and we would highly recommend requesting him if possible. Everyone at Deluxe Iceland was very helpful and accessible while we were there. Viktor and Siggi were always quick to respond if we had any last minute questions. We felt relaxed and comfortable throughout our whole trip. If you want to have THE experience that you'll remember forever, we highly recommend using Deluxe... Read more

WOW! It’s impossible to find the words to express how thankful we are for our experience with Deluxe Iceland and our time the owner, Sigurður Magnússon. Our trip was flawless from the moment we were picked up until the very last minute as our adventure came to an end. The only direction I gave them were the dates, areas we wanted to explore and we were up for anything. I’m so happy I left it all up to them. They did not disappoint! Our entire stay was seamless, every excursion, every private guide, every meal and accommodation worked out perfectly. We were never waiting or confronted with any obstacle. Every detail was perfectly executed. Sig went the extra step to take group pictures, help us with our gear before and after excursions, handled our luggage as we traveled to different hotels along the coast, you name it, he was always there to ensure we had no worries or stress along the way. Deluxe Iceland also has beautiful vehicles that are immaculate and fully equipped with, WiFi, changing cords, water bottles and GPS monitors that track where you have been and to show where you will be going. However, the best part of about our booking through Deluxe Iceland was spending time with Sig. He is a tremendous ambassador to Iceland. He is very knowledgeable about his country and conveys the information so nicely as you travel throughout the country. It’s far better than trying to travel the country without a guide. With Sig doing the driving my husband and I were... Read more
