This tour will take you to the Þingvellir National Park, where you can learn about the world’s first parliament. You will then see Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall Gullfoss ( Golden Waterfalls), followed by the Geysir geothermal field.

  • Day 3 - The South Shore & Glacier Walk

On this day you will get right into the action and head straight for the beautiful Icelandic south shore. You will be taken to see both the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Skógafoss waterfall, as well as Reynisdrangar Cliffs. Take a glacier walking tour up on Sólheimajökull Glacier. After all this our guide will take you to your hotel for the night.

On this day you will be taken to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where you will enjoy everything the lagoon has to offer. Go on an exciting boat trip, sailing among the huge icebergs in the picturesque scenery of Jökulsárlón. On the boat you get to taste the 1000 year old ice and if you are lucky you might even see seals.

  • Day 5 - The Eastfjords & Viking Village

On this day you will start to drive to the Eastfjords of Iceland. East Iceland is characterized by small villages, dramatic coastlines, narrow fjords, waterfalls and mountains. The nature is always close and the scenery is breathtaking. The first stop of the day will be at Vestrahorn, Vesturhorn or Stokksnes, these are all names for this same place. The Horn area is below Vestra-Horn, a 454-meter-high mountain. It is an interesting geological site composed of un-stratified plutonic rock, mostly gabbro but with some granophyre. East of the mountain is a strange-shaped outcrop called Brunnhorn that stretches out to sea. You will also visit the remote Viking village there. In reality, it is a film set for an Icelandic movie that was never filmed. Meanwhile it remains open to the public.

On the way to Fosshotel Eastfjords you will make a stop at Djúpivogur. You might not recognize the name of this place but this is one of the most photographed spots in the region. By the harbour in this lovely little village, you will find a bay called Merry bay. In that bay you will find a distinctive outdoor artwork hidden away from sight. The outside artwork consists of 34 huge granite eggs which represent the eggs of each of the nesting birds in this area. Next you will visit Petra’s Stone Mineral Collection Stöðvarfjörður before checking in at Fosshotel Eastfjords for the night.

Average Driving Distance: 215 km / 133 miles

  • Day 6 - Lake Myvatn & Geothermal Baths

On this day you will explore the natural beauty of Lake Mývatn and its lunar landscapes with visits to the lava formations at Dimmuborgir and Skútustaðagígar pseudo craters. Mývatn is a volcanic lake in northern Iceland. A short distance away, near Námafjall Mountain, is Hverir, a hot-springs area with boiling mud pots and fumaroles.  Dimmuborgir is an incredible lava field, packed with sky-high rock pillars and lava caves. The dramatic expanse formed in a volcanic eruption 2300 years ago. After exploring the surrounding area around Mývatn you will go bathing in Mývatn Nature Baths that have a naturally heated man-made lagoon, with mineral-rich waters known for their health-giving properties before checking in at Fosshotel Mývatn for the night.

Average Driving Distance: 250 km / 155 miles

  • Day 7 - Húsavik Whale Watching & Akureyri

Start the day by heading to Húsavik. The town of Húsavík sits on the eastern shore of Shaky Bay, known around the world as Whale Capital of Iceland. It is also the site of the first house built in Iceland, in the year 860, by Swedish viking.  Go on a big whale and puffin watching tour in a speedboat before enjoying a nice lunch in this small town with only about 2,300 inhabitants. Next stop is the powerful Goðafoss Waterfall on your way to Akureyri the capital of the north. Visit the popular Akureyri Church and continue to Siglufjörður Town where you will spend the night. Siglo Hotel is built into the fisherman’s marina. All rooms at Siglo Hotel have wonderful views of the beautiful surrounding mountains and peaceful environment.

Average Driving Distance: 257 km / 160 miles

  • Day 8 - Hofsos Pool & Eiríkstaðir

In the morning you will head to Hofsos Pools. The swimming pool in Hofsós is one of the most beautiful swimming pools in Iceland. It was built in the hillside over the sea and the view from it is over the fjord and to Drangey island. After bathing in geothermal bath you will enjoy a nice lunch in Sauðarkrókur Town and continue on your way to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. On the way you will stop at Eiríkstaðir, meet real Viking storytellers, telling renowned tales of the past. You can try real Viking tools and get to know the craftsmanship, architecture and Viking clothing, all made by hand with original tools and methods. Archaeological research at Eiriksstadir in the mid-20th century and again in 1997-1999 revealed the site of a 10th-century Viking longhouse. This archaeological evidence finally placed the presence of Eirik and his family at a precise location in the valley. After this experience you will check-in at Fosshotel Stykkishólmur where you will spend the night.

Average Driving Distance: 410 km / 255 miles

  • Day 9 - The Magical Snæfellsnes Peninsula

On this day your guide will take you around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The Snæfellsnes glacier is a volcano and is believed to be one of the seven chakras(energy centres) in the world. Others stop at beautiful cliff formations at Arnarstapi and Hellnar before heading to Reykjavik City.

Average Driving Distance: 272 km / 170 miles

  • Day 10 - Departure via Blue Lagoon

On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the Blue Lagoon to relax before your departure from Iceland. Deluxe Iceland is Flawless

Treva, July 2019

WOW! It’s impossible to find the words to express how thankful we are for our experience with Deluxe Iceland and our time the owner, Sigurður Magnússon. Our trip was flawless from the moment we were picked up until the very last minute as our adventure came to an end. The only direction I gave them were the dates, areas we wanted to explore and we were up for anything. I’m so happy I left it all up to them. They did not disappoint! Our entire stay was seamless, every excursion, every private guide, every meal and accommodation worked out perfectly. We were never waiting or confronted with any obstacle. Every detail was perfectly executed. Sig went the extra step to take group pictures, help us with our gear before and after excursions, handled our luggage as we traveled to different hotels along the coast, you name it, he was always there to ensure we had no worries or stress along the way. Deluxe Iceland also has beautiful vehicles that are immaculate and fully equipped with, WiFi, changing cords, water bottles and GPS monitors that track where you have been and to show where you will be going. However, the best part of about our booking through Deluxe Iceland was spending time with Sig. He is a tremendous ambassador to Iceland. He is very knowledgeable about his country and conveys the information so nicely as you travel throughout the country. It’s far better than trying to travel the country without a guide. With Sig doing the driving my husband and I were... Read more

Five Stars Best Of The Best

Matt and Michele, July 2019

If you want to have a first class, five star Iceland experience look no further then Deluxe Iceland. We just came back from a 6 day/5 night visit to the southern part of Iceland and it exceeded all of our expectations. Not only is the country beautiful and the people welcoming, friendly and safe, Sig has taken luxury travel and service to another level. From the moment you land to the moment you leave, every detail is accounted and designed around you! The schedule is your own, no rush or pressure, but Sig is ready to take you to all the best sights and his knowledge of Iceland and it’s history is unmatched (I asked a lot of questions!). I would recommend you just let Sig and his team set your days and you will not be sorry. He knows ALL the best sites across all of Iceland - the places tourists want to go, and some you may not know about. He also has access to all the best restaurants and can provide an elevated experience away from many of the crowds. Sig was always on time, always smiling and friendly, no request was off limits and he took us door to door, everyday, in a clean Mercedes Van with WiFi. He also has a few surprises along the way to fully immerse you in Icelandic culture, tradition and fun. I will be coming back and highly recommend Deluxe Iceland to anyone looking for a bucket list experience. Thank you Sig!!... Read more

Perfect trip!

Karen T, January 2019

Working with Sig, the company owner, over email, this trip came together very easily. I had certain things that I wanted to see and Sig filled in the rest. We went directly from the airport to the Blue Lagoon, and had a first class spa experience there that I didn’t even know was available (Thanks, Sig!). We stayed at Hotel Ranga for 3 nights, a great base for our day trips. Great place, delicious food. We had a super Jeep experience into the wilderness with Lulle, who entertained us all day with great Icelandic stories. Andri took us out for Northern Lights hunting. All of the guides were great! Knowledgeable, fun to talk to, always on time and eager to please. I can’t say enough about how great this tour company is. I wanted to visit the Saga Centre (museum) which is closed in the winter, and Sig got them to open just for me. Sig chose Hotel Borg for our last 2 nights in Reykjavik, a wonderful hotel in a great location. Couldn’t be... Read more
