A great way to begin retirement!!!

My husband and I chose to celebrate our "retirement" by touring Iceland. We corresponded with Deluxe Iceland's owner, Sig, and from the initial email to the final farewell at the airport we were extremely impressed!! Sig and Fannar, consecutively, were our personal tour guides throughout our trip and both were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. They listened to our wants and planned our trip accordingly. At the same time, they were more than willing to veer from the planned schedule if we spotted a "sight" along the route. Sig's mantra was "no stress" which made us feel relaxed and cared for!! (I have since decided to adopt that mantra!!) We had many great conversations and laughs with both Sig and Fannar and left Iceland feeling like we had made two new friends!! Itinerary
When you arrive in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, your private driver will greet you at the arrival hall and take you to relax in the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. There you will have access to the Retreat Spa and soak in geothermal waters. You can stay up to four hours in the Spa and enjoy a light meal at the Spa restaurant. Afterwards your private driver will take you to your hotel in South Iceland.
On this day you will get right into action and head straight for the beautiful Icelandic south shore. You will start the day by driving to the Black Sandy Beach, Reynisfjara, where you will see Reynisdrangar Cliffs (Approx. drive 1 hour 10 minutes). Afterwards you will be taken to see Skógafoss waterfall, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of some 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, and you can walk right up to. On your way back you will stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall before your guide will take you back to your hotel for the night.
You will start the day by stopping at the Lava Center before visiting a local farm. At the local farm you will get familiar with the Icelandic farm life and enjoy a cup of coffee and Icelandic Pancakes. Afterward top the day by going snowmobiling up on Eyjafjallajökull the infamous glacier that erupted in 2010.
On this day you will drive the Golden Circle route, which includes some of Iceland’s most popular places and attractions. You will start with a stop at Gullfoss Waterfall one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls (Approx. drive 1 hour and 15 minutes). Afterwards you will stop at Geysir Geothermal Area to see the exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 meters (100 ft) into the air every few minutes. On your way to Reykjavik, you will visit the Þingvellir National Park, where you can learn about the world’s first parliament and enjoy a light hike through the park.
Spend the whole day relaxing and discovering Reykjavik. Your hotel is located downtown near all the main shops and attractions. Therefore, it is very easy to wander around and explore at your own pace. *We will keep the Northern Lights tour open during your stay and go out on the best night, that has the best chances of clear skies and activity. We leave the Northern Lights tour unpaid until we can confirm that we will be operating the tour for that night. You will get an update from us every day during your stay if we will be operating the tour that night or not. If we are operating the tour you will get the chance to go at an extra cost that needs to be paid before the tour. We will be sending you an email before 5:00 PM every day, in case you can go on the tour we will be sending you a payment link to confirm your booking and the tour usually departs at 09:00 PM. Please note that we don’t offer a free retry and that The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sights can never be guaranteed, but our guides have a lot of experience and will try their best to spot the Northern Lights and go to the right location for that night.
On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the airport in time for your flight. *You will have to be at Keflavik airport 2 hours before departure.
