Perfect introduction to Iceland!

Deluxe Iceland helped us put together a really special and memorable first trip to Iceland. We spent four days touring the Golden Circle and south coast with our awesome guide Unnar. He was fun, gentle, and a little bit silly in just the right combination for our nine-year-old daughter. My husband and I also really enjoyed speaking with him about his experience growing up in Iceland and hearing about his own love for exploring his country. We felt very taken care of; Unnar was constantly monitoring the weather and changing the order of our itinerary when necessary to help us dodge the rain and get clear views of the amazing sites. He also added in a few extra stops that weren’t on our itinerary and turned out to be especially memorable. We spent considerably more on this trip than we normally do, but we never felt like we were paying more than we should for the level of comfort and convenience provided by Deluxe Iceland. Highly recommend them and, especially, Unnar!
Itinerary
When you arrive in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, your private driver will greet you at the arrival hall and take you to relax in the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. There you will have premium access to the Blue Lagoon to soak in geothermal waters in one of the wonders of the world. Afterwards your private driver will take you to your hotel in South Iceland.
On this day you will get right into action and head straight for the beautiful Icelandic south shore. You will start the day by driving to the Black Sandy Beach, Reynisfjara, where you will see Reynisdrangar Cliffs (Approx. drive 1 hours 10 minutes). Afterwards you will be taken to see Skógafoss waterfall, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of some 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, and you can walk right up to. On your way back you will stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall before your guide will take you back to your hotel for the night.
You will start the day by stopping at the Lava Center before visiting a local farm to get familiar with the Icelandic farm life and enjoy a cup of coffee and Icelandic Pancakes. Afterwards top the day by going swimming in a local geothermally heated swimming pool in the town of Hella where the children can have fun and you can relax after the day.
On this day you will drive the Golden Circle route, which includes some of Iceland’s most popular places and attractions. You will start with a stop at Gullfoss Waterfall – one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls (Approx. drive 1 hour and 15 minutes). Afterwards, you will stop at Geysir Geothermal Area to see the exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 meters (100 ft) into the air every few minutes. On your way to Reykjavik, you will visit the Þingvellir National Park, where you can learn about the world’s first parliament and enjoy a light hike through the park.
Spend the whole day relaxing and discovering Reykjavik. Your hotel is located downtown near all the main shops and attractions. Therefore, it is very easy to wander around and explore at your own pace.
On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the airport in time for your flight. *You will have to be at Keflavik airport 2 hours before departure.
