What our clients have to say
Incredible company and guide!

We schedule a week visit to Iceland at the end of Sept for the week of Thanksgiving through Victor at Deluxe Iceland. They gave our family of 5 (ages 13, 15, and 18) what we all consider the best vacation we have ever had and we have Deluxe Iceland to thank! They tailored the entire trip to the type of activities our family enjoys while still managing for us to cover all of the highlights of Iceland at this time of the year. They also managed to do this within 6 weeks of visiting. Jonas was our private guide and driver the entire time. All 5 of us absolutely adored him and he added a number of things that made our trip special. He has the perfect balance of knowing how involved to be and when it is time to chill or have family time. We were able to see the Northern Lights our second night in Iceland and Jonas took the time to make sure we had all the family pictures we needed to create our Christmas card and then had hot chocolate brewing in the back of the car to our surprise. When it was too windy one day to snow mobile, he suggested we go on ATVs and it was definitely the most favorite thing for our boys. Every day was something new, wonderful and private. The restaurants were equally amazing and varied and Jonas managed to find places with the best fries- which was what was most important to my daughter. The country and people in Iceland are absolutely amazing. I want to go back in the summer and experience new things. Highlights of our trip were: ice caving, seeing the Northern lights, visiting a family for a day of life on a traditional dairy farm (which surprisingly was one of my kids favorite things), private yacht to see the whales, walking, shopping and eating around Reykjavik (definitely go to Apotek), 4 wheeling in the snow and seeing hidden waterfalls. Blue Lagoon is also a must and I would go upon arrival vs. on your way out. We arrived at 6:30am and were there by 8:15 and it was a perfect way to start after getting no sleep on the flight.

On this day you will start to drive to the Eastfjords of Iceland. East Iceland is characterized by small villages, dramatic coastlines, narrow fjords, waterfalls and mountains. The nature is always close and the scenery is breathtaking. The first stop of the day will be at Vestrahorn, Vesturhorn or Stokksnes, these are all names for this same place. The Horn area is below Vestra-Horn, a 454-meter-high mountain. It is an interesting geological site composed of un-stratified plutonic rock, mostly gabbro but with some granophyre. East of the mountain is a strange-shaped outcrop called Brunnhorn that stretches out to sea. On the way to Fosshotel Eastfjords you will make a stop at Djúpivogur. You might not recognize the name of this place but this is one of the most photographed spots in the region. By the harbour in this lovely little village, you will find a bay called Merry bay. In that bay you will find a distinctive outdoor artwork hidden away from sight. The outside artwork consists of 34 huge granite eggs which represent the eggs of each of the nesting birds in this area. Next you will visit Petra’s Stone Mineral Collection Stöðvarfjörður before checking in at Fosshotel Eastfjords for the night. Average Driving Distance: 215 km / 133 miles
On this day you will explore the natural beauty of Lake Mývatn and its lunar landscapes with visits to the lava formations at Dimmuborgir and Skútustaðagígar pseudo craters. Mývatn is a volcanic lake in northern Iceland. A short distance away, near Námafjall Mountain, is Hverir, a hot-springs area with boiling mud pots and fumaroles. Dimmuborgir is an incredible lava field, packed with sky-high rock pillars and lava caves. The dramatic expanse formed in a volcanic eruption 2300 years ago. After exploring the surrounding area around Mývatn you will go bathing in Mývatn Nature Baths that have a naturally heated man-made lagoon, with mineral-rich waters known for their health-giving properties before checking in at Fosshotel Mývatn for the night. Average Driving Distance: 250 km / 155 miles
Start the day by heading to Húsavik. The town of Húsavík sits on the eastern shore of Shaky Bay, known around the world as Whale Capital of Iceland. It is also the site of the first house built in Iceland, in the year 860, by Swedish viking. Go on a big whale and puffin watching tour in a speedboat before enjoying a nice lunch in this small town with only about 2,300 inhabitants. Next stop is the powerful Goðafoss Waterfall on your way to Akureyri the capital of the north. Visit the popular Akureyri Church and continue to Siglufjörður Town where you will spend the night. Siglo Hotel is built into the fisherman’s marina. All rooms at Siglo Hotel have wonderful views of the beautiful surrounding mountains and peaceful environment. Average Driving Distance: 257 km / 160 miles
In the morning you will head to Hofsos Pools. The swimming pool in Hofsós is one of the most beautiful swimming pools in Iceland. It was built on the hillside over the sea and the view from it is over the fjord and to Drangey island. After bathing in a geothermal bath you will enjoy a nice lunch in Sauðarkrókur Town and continue on your way to the Reykholt. Enjoy the stunning landscape on your way to Reykholt where you will check-in at Fosshotel Reykholt.
On this day we will drive towards Reykjavik and visit Hraunfossar, Barnafossar, and make a stop at Húsafell. On our way to Reykjavik we will stop at Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring before heading to your hotel in Reykjavik.
On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the Blue Lagoon to relax before your departure from Iceland. At the Blue Lagoon you will have access to the Retreat Spa where you can relax and soak in geothermal waters before your private driver takes you to Keflavik Airport in time for your departure. *You have to be at Keflavik airport 2 hours before departure.
