This six day privately guided tour will show you Iceland’s most popular sights and also let you experience an active volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Fly over the eruption in a helicopter and admire this once in a lifetime experience before landing on the eruption sight to take a close look at the forces of mother nature. Relax and experience luxury first hand, from the moment you arrive until you depart your will be taken care of by your own local guide! Available from 1 May to 30 September.
Day 1 - Arrival via the Blue Lagoon
When you arrive in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, your private driver will greet you at the arrival hall and take you to relax in the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. Where you will have access to the Retreat Spa and soak in geothermal waters. There is a restaurant in the Spa if you want to have a light meal. You can stay up to four hours in the Spa. Afterwards your private driver will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 2 - Helicopter tour over the Volcanic Eruption & Atv
You will start the day by taking a 40 – 60 minute helicopter tour over the eruption site on the Reykjanes Peninsula, land on the eruption site and get closer to the eruption. The Land of Fire and Ice is once again living up to its name! Starting on March 19th the new eruption is in Geldingadalur valley, just south of Fagradalsfjall volcano, gleaming lava can be found running in molten rivers and spurting in spectacular jets. This is a truly once in a lifetime experience and should not be missed! Afterwards you will top the day by taking a one hour atv tour on the Reykjanes Peninsula before heading to lunch in Grindavik and going back to Reykjavik.
Day 3 - The Lava Center, Local Farm Visit & Snowmobiling
You will start the day by stopping at the Lava Center at Hvolfsvöllur before visiting a local farm to get familiar with the Icelandic farm life and enjoy a cup of coffee and Icelandic Pancakes and afterwards top the day by going snowmobiling up on Eyjafjallajökull the infamous glacier that erupted in 2010.
At the Lava center you will visit the exhibition halls and use the interactive displays to discover the colossal and complex natural forces that shape the Earth and began to create Iceland tens of millions of years ago.
Day 4 - The Glacier Lagoon & Zodiac Boat Ride
On this day you will be taken to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where you will enjoy everything the lagoon has to offer. If you want to, you can go on an exciting boat trip, sailing among the huge icebergs in the picturesque scenery of Jökulsárlón. On the boat you get to taste the 1000 year old ice and if you are lucky you might even see seals.
Day 5 - Back to Reykjavik - Lava Tunnel
In the morning you will start heading back to Reykjavik with a stop at the Lava Tunnel. Explore the magnificent Lava Tunnel, Raufarholshellir, one of the longest and best-known lava tubes in Iceland. It is located just 35 minutes from Reykjavik and is easily accessed year round. A journey into The Lava Tunnel is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption as one walks in the path of lava that flowed 5.200 years ago. You will spend the entire afternoon relaxing and discovering Reykjavik. Your hotel is located downtown near all the main shops and attractions. Therefore, it is very easy to wander around and explore at your own pace.
Day 6 - Departure
On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the airport in time for your flight. *You have to be at Keflavik airport 2 hours before departure.

My husband and I chose to celebrate our "retirement" by touring Iceland. We corresponded with Deluxe Iceland's owner, Sig, and from the initial email to the final farewell at the airport we were extremely impressed!! Sig and Fannar, consecutively, were our personal tour guides throughout our trip and both were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. They listened to our wants and planned our trip accordingly. At the same time, they were more than willing to veer from the planned schedule if we spotted a "sight" along the route. Sig's mantra was "no stress" which made us feel relaxed and cared for!! (I have since decided to adopt that mantra!!) Deluxe Iceland did an incredible job planning our family trip. We worked with Viktor for a few months ahead of time. He was informative and very patient, helping us plan the perfect trip for our family. He organized and took care of all the details in advance so we could enjoy our trip without any hassles. When we arrived in Iceland we were greeted by our unbelievable guide Andri who showed us around Iceland, taking us to the blue lagoon, the golden circle, a local farm visit, the lava center, snowmobiling, and so much more. WOW! It’s impossible to find the words to express how thankful we are for our experience with Deluxe Iceland and our time the owner, Sigurður Magnússon. Our trip was flawless from the moment we were picked up until the very last minute as our adventure came to an end. The only direction I gave them were the dates, areas we wanted to explore and we were up for anything. I’m so happy I left it all up to them. They did not disappoint! Our entire stay was seamless, every excursion, every private guide, every meal and accommodation worked out perfectly. We were never waiting or confronted with any obstacle. Every detail was perfectly executed. Sig went the extra step to take group pictures, help us with our gear before and after excursions, handled our luggage as we traveled to different hotels along the coast, you name it, he was always there to ensure we had no worries or stress along the way. Deluxe Iceland also has beautiful vehicles that are immaculate and fully equipped with, WiFi, changing cords, water bottles and GPS monitors that track where you have been and to show where you will be going.
