Thinking about visiting this summer?

Here is all the information you need to know

Update from Us

We hope you and your family are doing well given the situation that is going on in the world. The emergence of Coronavirus (Covid-19) is an unprecedented situation that none of us could have predicted and at this moment it’s hard to say what the consequences will be in the near future. 2020 has already been an unusually challenging year, but every challenge provides an opportunity to learn and grow from. As with most things, this will get better and it’s just a matter of when, we are already seeing signs of it here in Iceland. While we are optimistic about normality soon being restored, our fingers are crossed for fast recoveries and good health, we can do our bit by staying inside, avoiding contact with people outside of our households and use the quiet lockdown time to catch up on some good movies filmed and set in Iceland!

Open To Tourists Again with Conditions

At a press conference today, Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir announced some up-coming changes to the travel restrictions to Iceland. Tourists visiting Iceland after June 15th can make a choice: go into immediate 2-week quarantine, get tested for the coronavirus, or present a clean bill of health from the health authorities in their home countries. Public and private health authorities will be working together to have the tremendous project of screening arrivals ready by the beginning of next month. No one from outside of the Schengen Area will be able to enter Iceland until June 15th. After that time tourists from outside Schengen will most likely be able to visit Iceland under the mentioned conditions.

Our Approach

We are monitoring this situation very closely day by day. Once everything will go back to normal we will be well prepared, and our staff follows guidelines and instructions by The Directorate of Health and The Icelandic Tourist Board. We have raised our standards of codes of conduct in operation, all our vehicles are sterilised with steam machine between rides and we have free hand sanitizer on-board. Your safety is our top priority!

For our clients that already have confirmed bookings in the following months: June, July and August we suggest that we evaluate the situation four weeks prior to arrival and before taking a firm decision. In the worst case scenario, for travel restrictions we would suggest altered dates for future travel. The circumstances are fast evolving for the better here in Iceland and hopefully that will be the case in world next weeks. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

In response to the unprecedented outbreak of the Covid-19 virus we have adjusted our cancellation policy to No Loss Policy that applies to all bookings arriving after 1st of May in 2020. Our team of local guides can’t wait to show you our country’s unforgettable natural beauty and adventures. Whatever the situation is, we are here at your disposal, whenever you’re ready!
